The Simple things in Life....

Sometimes the simple things are the most beautiful, and also intriguing.  They do make for interesting photographic subjects.  I try to get unique perspectives, sometimes it works at other times not.

All shots taken with a Pentax K20D and Sigma 24-70 DG EX

  1. I'm getting tired of saying fabulous shot Shane (which of course they are) so I'm going to say something else.
shot 1. I would have liked the water drop to have beenin focus (hard one that) however the colour sat and exposure are perfect.
2.Intersting shot, something that's appealed to me to have a go at too. I would prefer the horzontal line to be much less prominent and maybe the background even more out of focus with more of a sparkly light accent on the tynes.
    3. I don;t drink beer, no comment.
ahh only kidding, I really like this shot, very commercial but it might be better if the table was cloned out and the bottom of the glass included.
ok was that too harsh? Its great to see another genre from you....the man has talent

  2. Thanks Suellen :-)
I was a little disappointed the drop wasn't quite in focus, but I still like how it has come up.
I see what you mean about the second shot...will give your suggestions consideration next time I have a go at shooting something like that.
the original shot has the bottom of the glass, but I had to straighten it and in doing so it chopped part of it off :(
Not harsh at all, absolutely great comments which make me look more closely at the images and see where I can improve them. Thanks heaps for that Suellen.

  3. Just looking at the beer glass shot...
just thought that maybe adding a bit of table top in front of the glass may add a bit of three dimensionality to the image. what do you think?

  4. I think the graphic nature of the shot probably is best maintained without a shadow. Is it my eyes or is there a slight green tinge to the background at the bottom. Maybe the table idea would work..or maybe a different colour background and table...in direct contrast to that luscious colour of the beer....just thoughts (no definitive solutions sorry)

  5. The green tinge was there on the wall...would be easy to clone though.
I get ya about the table...will have to go back and have another shoot sometime just to see if it would work :-)
Thanks for your thoughts Suellen :-)
