I went for a wander on the golf course.  I have been wanting to get a shot of the gazebo for a while.

June 10

Falling behind again :( 

This was the first clearish day after the snow falls and I had to get up on the hill and get some images.  Taken from the same spot as the day before, Iron Blow.  It was awesome to see the snow but also breathtaking to see the views all around.  The colours were amazing, everything looked so clean after all the moisture, whether it was rain or snow.

I am blown away by the west coast environment, it changes every day, and many times in that day.

June 9

It was cold enough, and I had seen shots of snow on the mountain earlier in the day so I though I would go and try to get some shots for myself, but from a bit closer.  My travels took me to Iron Blow, an old mine site just outside town.  I scrambled up the side of the hill to somewhere I thought would be good to get some close ups.  I took my 135mm lens with me.

Unfortunately the cloud hanging over the mountain did not want to lift, so I contented myself in taking pix of the rocks and textures of the hill I was standing on.  Eventually the cloud lifted enough to give me a glimpse of the lower portions of snow, but not too much. 

The wind up on the hill was very strong and cold, it made it difficult to take images.  My hands were freezing, so I decided to go back down.  On the way home I stopped and got a few images of Horsetail Falls.  It was flowing nicely after all the rain of the last few days.  On a fine day, just after rain, I would like to get a bit closer to this fall.

June 8

The day was uninviting and the conditions did their best to turn me away.  Even though it was wet, cold and windy I wanted to go out to the Lake, Lake Burbury, and see what I could get images of.  This place is amazing.  Different weather conditions bring out the different moods of it.

Despite the conditions there was a lot of bird life around, unfortunately I didn't have my birding lens with me, only had my 18-55mm, so didn't get any close ups of them.  So many different varieties in one place.  They seemed to be revelling in the harsh conditions.  Seeing this made me feel alive and I stayed out there as long as I could stand the cold,wet climate.

At times the sun would attempt to break through the cloud and  brighten the scene exposing undergrowth I had trouble seeing, lighting up the shadows enough for me to shoot.  Eventually I succumbed to the chill and headed home, feeling enriched by the experience and wondering what the rest of the day would bring.

June 7

I went for another trip to Burnie.  The weather was atrocious.  The sun shone for about half an hour when I got up north, and on the way back I was driving through snow flurries.  Scary but fun drive.  I have to go and shoot the fence again next time I am up that way, it is so interesting, I definitely didn't capture it the way I wanted to this time.

There are so many waterfalls along the Anthony Rd at the moment.  I had to stop and get at least one of them.  It was snowing at the time so I didn't get too many shots, I didn't want to stop for too long in case the roads got too icy and I couldn't make it home.

June 6

With all the snow around lately I had to see if I could capture some.  I decided to go fro a spin out to Mt Huxley and found a little bit along the side of the road and at one of the lookouts.  The waterfalls are running as well, there are so many around at the moment.  It's great to see such an amount of water flowing.
